چکیده

The Cu(I)-catalyzed N,N'-diarylation of natural diamines and polyamines such as putrescine, cadaverine, spermine, spermidine and their homologues is described. Aryl iodides bearing electron-donating and electron-withdrawing groups have been employed in the study. The CuI/2-(isobutyryl)cyclohexanone/DMF catalytic system has found to be more efficient in the diarylation of diamines and spermine while the CuI/L-proline/EtCN system proved to be preferable for the diarylation of other tri- and tetraamines like spermidine, norspermidine and norspermine.

Mechanistic studies on the copper-catalyzed N-arylation of amides.

The copper-catalyzed N-arylation of amides, i.e., the Goldberg reaction, is an efficient method for the construction of products relevant to both industry and academic settings. Herein, we present mechanistic details concerning the catalytic and stoichiometric N-arylation of amides. In the context of the catalytic reaction, our findings reveal the importance of chelating diamine ligands in cont...

A DFT study of the mechanism of copper-catalyzed synthesis of 2H-indazoles from aryl azide.

DFT calculations have been performed to study the reaction mechanism of N-N bond formation from aryl azide catalyzed by the copper(I) iodide complex. We studied various activation modes for the azide group, and found that the azide group is activated by the Cu(μ-I)2Cu(TMEDA) dimer coordinating to the N-atom of phenyl imine and the internal N-atom of azide.

Copper-catalyzed cyanation of aryl iodides with α-cyanoacetates via C-CN bond activation.

A Cu(I)-catalyzed cyanation reaction of aryl iodides with α-cyanoacetates is reported herein, which uses α-cyanoacetates as the nontoxic and easy-handling CN source through copper-mediated C-CN bond cleavage. This reaction enables access to aryl nitriles with an array of functional groups on the aromatic ring in good to excellent yields.

Nickel-catalyzed difunctionalization of allyl moieties using organoboronic acids and halides with divergent regioselectivities† †Electronic supplementary information (ESI) available. CCDC 1563066. For ESI and crystallographic data in CIF or other electronic format see DOI: 10.1039/c7sc03149a

Efficient difunctionalization of alkenes allows the rapid construction of molecular complexity from simple building blocks in organic synthesis. We present herein a nickel-catalyzed dicarbofunctionalization of alkenes using readily available organoboronic acids and organic halides in a three-component fashion. In particular, an unprecedented regioselectivity of the 1,3-dicarbofunctionalization ...

A new family of nucleophiles for photoinduced, copper-catalyzed cross-couplings via single-electron transfer: reactions of thiols with aryl halides under mild conditions (O °C).

Building on the known photophysical properties of well-defined copper-carbazolide complexes, we have recently described photoinduced, copper-catalyzed N-arylations and N-alkylations of carbazoles. Until now, there have been no examples of the use of other families of heteroatom nucleophiles in such photoinduced processes. Herein, we report a versatile photoinduced, copper-catalyzed method for c...
